The self-guided tour includes access to the monumental hall and the new exhibition spaces where ancient books, paintings and other objects belonging to the collections of the Chapter of Canons will be on display.

Reservation is mandatory for groups made of 6 people or more, and for gruops accompanied by a licensed guide. 

Summer hours (March 30, 2026 - October 23, 2026): daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last admission 5:30 PM, closed Wednesdays)
Winter hours (October 24, 2026 - March 28, 2027): daily from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM (last admission 5:00 PM, closed Wednesdays)

Temporary variations to the opening hours:

- Monday, September 7th, closing at 2:00 PM (last entry at 1:30 PM) 

- Thursday, September 24th, closing at 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM)

The visit starts from the canonical cloister, and then moves to the Library, with its majestic monumental hall recently restored.

The last part of the route includes the exhibition of some original manuscripts and printed texts, which can be admired closely.

The guided tour will operate with a minimum of 10 participants. If the minimum number is not reached by 5:00 PM the day before the tour, participants will be notified and tickets will be refunded.

A special visit in which will be Monsignor Bruno Fasani, Prefect of the Capitolare, the charismatic guide who will accompany you on an exciting journey, to discover the thousand-year history of the Chapter and the city of Verona.

Special event in collaboration with the Miniscalchi-Erizzo Museum.

A special themed tour in two parts, taking place at two cultural venues in Verona, exploring the ways and tools humanity has used to observe, understand and describe the sky.

1st stop on the guided tour: Biblioteca Capitolare, Piazza Duomo, 19, 37121 Verona VR (10.00 am)

2nd stop on the guided tour: Museo Miniscalchi-Erizzo, Via S. Mamaso, 2/A, 37121 Verona VR (11.00 am)

A themed tour offering an in-depth look at the life of Scipione Maffei (1675–1755), a versatile intellectual whose story is closely linked to the Biblioteca Capitolare. He was responsible for the rediscovery and study of precious manuscripts believed to have been lost, as well as for donating his collection of Greek, Latin and vernacular manuscripts.

During the guided tour, which serves as a preview of the temporary exhibition opening on October 1st, visitors will have the opportunity to admire up close a selection of precious manuscripts and early printed editions.
