EVENTI

On Friday, 6 June at 5:30 p.m., the Biblioteca Capitolare will host the meeting ‘Bianchini and Newton: in dialogue between science and faith’, with Monsignor Bruno Fasani, Prefect of the Capitolare, and Prof. Ivano Dal Prete, lecturer and researcher at Yale University.
At the centre of the conversation, the figure of Francesco Bianchini - historian from Verona, scientist, advisor to popes and promoter of Newtonian culture in Rome - and his relationship of correspondence and friendship with Isaac Newton. A confrontation symbolising a time when scientific and theological thought sought new meeting spaces after the Galilean fracture, in a shared search for truth.
During the meeting, it will be possible to admire some of Bianchini's original texts, today conserved in the Biblioteca Capitolare by his testamentary will.
The event is part of the cycle ‘Parliamone. In dialogue with the present’ and is part of the programme “Regenerated in hope”, promoted by the MAB Triveneto project on the occasion of the Jubilee 2025.
Free admission with prior booking.
