“A Meeting with Taste” is back again this year – the series of events organised by the Biblioteca Capitolare of Verona that brings together antique books, storytelling and tastings.
Three events exploring different themes, selected from the Capitolare’s vast and varied collection of books and explored in depth by our curators, each accompanied by a tasting session in the canonical cloister.
It kicks off on 18 June with “No Reading Allowed! Stories of Censorship, Book Burnings and Dangerous Books”. A journey through indexes, banned books and rebellious pages. This will be followed by a tasting of Kombwine with Andrea Moser, creator of the first non-alcoholic drink made from wine must.
The second event is on 25 June: “From oxen to bran. A journey through the evolution of the Italian language”. A journey dedicated to the birth of the Italian language and its great authors, accompanied by wines from the RUBINELLI VAJOL Winery.
We will conclude on 2 July with “Voices of women, voices on women. The feminine in the texts of the Capitolare". An evening dedicated to the female figures depicted in ancient books and on the wine labels of La Dama Vini Valpolicella, partner of the event.
All events will take place on Thursdays at 5.30 pm.
